2025 Château Duhart-Milon, Pauillac

HoldRunning lowJane Anson 94/100

A Cabernet-dominant blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot, the 2025 Duhart-Milon opens with beautiful Pauillac aromatics of cassis and black raspberries intermixed with graphite, lead pencil, violets and chalky minerality. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, graceful profile, with fine tannins, lovely freshness and a long, harmonious finish. A lovely classic in the making.

Fragrant and floral on the opening, with chalky tannins and a gorgeous lift through the palate, showing crayon, raspberry, cassis and cherry pit. A delicacy and finesse evident in this Duhart, very pretty, with a less powerful structure than the 2022 vintage.

Fragrant blackcurrants and dried herbs on the nose. Really succulent and grippy straight away, charming and soft, almost creamy with a touch of powdery tannins, but such depth and concentration of fruit, ripe but still cool.
